Clean slate
There is nothing more than I love than a clean slate. A blank page, new day, the start of a week, the beginning of a new year, a new note book, a fresh document, an empty inbox and the list goes on. A lot of people make fun of new years resolutions, myself being one of them. However, this is something that I will bitter defend seeing seeing new potential. At this time of year I hope you get some time to wrap up what has been on you To Do list and spend time thinking about what comes ahead in 2012.
Today I finally am getting close to that point. I'm sitting down working on some projects that I love. I have a clean desk that grew by a few feet, thanks to a fun extension I built. There is nothing more I love than having little to nothing on my desk and a whole lot of coffee in a pot. Yesterday my desk looked like this.

Today this is what my desk looks like.

Today is a new fresh day and I have a lot of time to focus and get some great work done. I'm excited.
When you have a clean slate you can start to imagine and create. When you have time and space to create something of meaning, you don't have to sort through old mess and broken ideas.
For me projects I pick up today will include:
- Care Challenge
- Expert Commission
- SocialMediaNurse.com - still not up yet

All that excess definitely makes makes for a less enjoyable workspace, but the willpower to sit down and start something is where it really kicks in.
Once you have something you’re into I find it really easy to simply ignore everything around you (that’s how you start to accumulate old dishes, and weeks worth of papers), but to start work on something, all that junk really gets me thinking about everything I should do with those things, and what those papers mean.
So new year’s, new projects, new desk is a great way to start.
