Simply put I am passionate about continuing to learn more and help others.
I am a recent graduate of the University of Toronto where I completed my Masters of Nursing. Since graduating I started working at York University for the school of nursing. In March 2011 my first book was published by Simga Theta Tau International. In January 2012 I was proud to learn The Nurse's Social Media Advantage won a 2011 American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award. My current interests include:
- Utilization of web-based tools and services
- Online collaboration and analytics
- Innovation in Healthcare
These interests are why I continue to work on Nursing Ideas, a web-based initiative to connect nurses and nursing students with leaders, researchers and innovators across health care. I also teach, consult and collaborate on projects related to social media and analytics for professional and health care related organizations. This type of work has included developing policy recommendations, facilitating workshops, and creating customized educations sessions to teach students, nurses, educators and administrators about social media.
